Uncle Danny is here!

And now an update from Debra...

Daniel arrived on Mother's Day, and we are so happy to have him here! It took Clare about two seconds to warm up to him. She adores him and so do we!

My due date is this Sunday, and I can't believe how well I'm doing. Of course I get tired out if I do too much, but I thought I would be miserable at this point, and I'm just fine. I even sleep at night. We are pretty much ready (enough) for me to go into labor, but Chris sure would like for it to somehow work around the Stanley Cup Finals since his favorite team, the Anaheim Ducks, made it! We've been watching a lot of hockey lately, though I sometimes can't stay up to watch the entire games.
Here's a picture of Clare in our new diaper bag.

Below is another of the princess outfits she got for her birthday from Uncle Dean, Aunt Sharon, Brendon and Lauren. This one is the Little Mermaid. It even came with matching Barbie outfits, which you can see here.
Aren't giant cardboard boxes the best toys!

Last Saturday we went to the town of Erie (a town very close to us) for the annual hot air balloon launch. It's worth getting up at 5 a.m. , and the weather was perfect for it. After, we went to Boulder for breakfast at Lucille's. We love that place and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. What a nice morning we had!

I thought this dead cat one was pretty strange! You can almost see the tongue hangin out of it's mouth here.

Thanks to Danny for helping me get the pictures on this blog! I would bet the next entry will be a baby announcement. I still can hardly believe we're having a baby!

Catching up...again

OK, so I don't update this as much as I should. But when I do, it's fantastic! Incredible! Amazing! Here's a picture of my girls making easter eggs. Clare did a great job making eggs and we hid them for her on easter. We bought some plastic eggs and filled them with jellybeans and hid those too. The funny thing was, after Clare found three eggs, two with jellybeans, she was done. She sat down to eat her candy. We must have said "Keep looking Clare!" twenty times. Towards the end Clare could hardly lift her basket.

A lot of weekends I like making pancakes for Clare and on this particular weekend I made a happy face out of chocolate chips. Earlier that week she asked me to buy her a small tiara. Since she spends most of her time here ordering us around like peasants I thought she needed it. So here's a picture of "Your Majesty" eating chocolate chip pancakes.

The last time Debra was pregnant with Clare, we didn't take barely any pictures of Debra's belly until she went into labor. So her water breaks and do we go to the hospital? No way! We go over to a friends place to take pictures of us. Clare wasn't born until eighteen hours later anyway so we had plenty of time for photos.

The women at Debra's work were kind enough to throw her a shower. They really took care of her too! LOTS of goodies, including a present for Clare which I thought was very sweet of them. She's been having a great time playing with it serving Debra and I tea and cake.

On May 1st, Clare turned three years old. Our little girl is all grown up! I told her it was time to start looking for other "accomodations" and suggested getting an apartment or possibly a rich boyfriend. Paul McCartney is single now, right? It was so funny, Debra had done this great job getting a princess cake and blowing up a bunch of pink balloons while Clare and I watched a Disney movie upstairs. When it was time to come down, Clare saw the balloons and that's all she wanted to play with. She didn't give two craps about her presents or her cake. All she wanted was to play with those dang balloons. It got to be pretty funny and I taped it all on our camcorder.

One of the gifts Clare recieved was from her Uncle Dean and Aunt Sharon. It was a box of "play clothes" from Disney. She has dresses, shoes, crowns and jewelry for Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. As you can see, she didn't like that present at all. Wink, wink. As soon as she gets home from school every day it's time to put on one of these dresses. It's perfect since she's constantly telling us she's "a princess."
And now a note from Debra:
I'm just about three weeks away from my due date. I'm so tempted to take a picture of my swollen feet and ankles to put on this blog, but it would just be too disgusting! Man, it sure is hard working full time and taking care of a household and three year old. The ladies at work tell me I look so cute, but that I definitely look tired too. I don't know how I could possibly look cute being this size, but that's sweet of them to say. We just hope our little guy waits until Uncle Danny gets in town on the 13th! We can't wait to see all of our relatives who are planning to visit within the next couple months!
