Paint Job

We certainly didn't feel like spending thousands of dollars to have trees removed, new rain gutters installed, dry rot wood replaced, exterier lights replaced and a super high-quality paint job, but our house was getty really shabby. We are going to be living here for a long time, and we need to protect our investment, so we gave our house's exterior an overhaul.

We forgot to take a picture of our house before we had it painted a couple of weeks ago, so for a before picture, we'll have to use this one we took just before we bought it when the landscaping was horrible and it was the end of winter, so everything was dead.

We were going for a really dark grey, but it turned out to be more of a greyish blue. It looks great anyway, and I think it looks better in person than in this photo. You can't see the red door here. The funny thing is that now we actually kind of like the little tree in our front yard now with this house color. We used to hate the tree and were planning on replacing it one of these days. We were quite envious of the green trees around our neighborhood and ours always looked so DARK. In front of our blueish-gray house though, the burgundy leaves really look great! Of course I had to add a couple pictures of the kids too...

Clare has been having a great time playing with our new neighbors' son, Dillon. (Funny, I don't know how he spells his name.) He's a great kid, and we are so thrilled she has a playmate. I'm sure when Drew is a little older he will spend a lot of time with the little brother, Taylor, since they are both the same age.

Also, we are so sad that our favorite next door neighbors, Dick and Laura moved away, but at least a family is moving in. They have a nine-year-old daughter, who is too old for our kids, but they also have a daughter Drew's age. The parents seem super nice too!

Growing like weeds

On the kids' first week at Kindercare, I did take the camera. Here's a shot of Drew on the way to school, and sitting down for breakfast. Of course, it's been over a month now since I took these photos.

Clare is standing in front of the "lockers" at Kindercare. It was the start of the school year, so none of them were decorated like they are now. We are so happy the kids are at Kindercare!

Clare lost her first tooth a couple of weeks ago. This new tooth has about halfway grown in now, but she lost the one beside it two days ago.
Chris and I had a great time going to another Rockies game. We sat in the awesome seats I won from Deloitte (first row behind the visitor dougout). Our new neighbors watched the kids, and we went early to get Ryan Spilborg'sautograph on our ball. We know no one else who sees this blog cares about baseball, but we are total Rockies fanatics!
