It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
We had a great time at the Parade of Lights a couple weeks ago in downtown Denver. We couldn't believe how nice the weather was for nighttime this time of year.
Last weekend we went to a nearby city's winter festival.
At the Flatirons Crossing mall they have a temporary, but real, outdoor ice skating rink. I don't know what the heck these people were skating on at this festival, but it wasn't ice.
We had a nice time, but I have to blow some steam off about some total LOSERS we encountered. I was sitting at one of those very long picnic tables with the kids while Chris was off buying some food for himself. We were eating when a family asked if they could sit down across from us. I said yes since it's the polite thing to do. Well, as they sit down, I notice the lady is carrying a tote bad with a small dog in it. First of all, that's just lame. Well, she sets the bag o' dog on the bench between herself and her husband. They have food and start eating. Then she says, oh, she's shivering! She fusses with the dog and then exclaims, "Do you want your coat on?" AS SHE PROCEEDS TO SET THE DOG DIRECTLY ON THE TABLE WHERE SHE IS EATING, WHICH IS DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM WHERE WE ARE EATING! I couldn't believe it. I couldn't help but immediately say to her, "That's actually really rude to do where people are eating." She just looked at me and maybe a side glance at her husband and put the dog's coat on from the bench. Some people are so clueless, it's amazing.
KinderCare had their annual Holiday Program. Drew's class may have been more entertaining if they had the music turned up so the kids could actually hear it and maybe want to dance.
Clare's class sang Jingle Bells and Up on the Housetop. Clare did such a great job! (I was afraid maybe she'd refuse to go on stage or something, but she participated better than most of them.)
