Summertime
In July we went to the Boulder County Fairgrounds with Chris' parents for a festival. It was a no waste event, which I had never seen before. We had a good time there, and it was especially great that it was free, even the rides and bounce houses!
Clare had fun except for the time when she was on her back in a bounce house and a little girl who was maybe two decided (on purpose) to jump on Clare. Poor Clare!
They had a charity rubber duck race in the river. Our duck didn't win anything for us. Bad duck! Hey, I just noticed the "bullet" in the photo below. Nice mullet bald dude! Chris' cousin, Candy, came for a visit from California. She stayed with Chris' parents, but we got to hang out with her a couple of times. It was great to see her!
Of course Clare wouldn't cooperate with having her picture taken. What a typical four-year-old girl.
The messier the game, the more fun it is!
This is the pose Clare seems to think she needs to do when we want to take her picture.
The day care center made up funny movie posters with the kids heads. Here Drew is replacing John Travolta.

Drew looks like a real bad ass here. He's flashing gang signs or something.
Below are a couple shots at the Starbucks on the Platte River. We were celebrating the anniversary of the first time Chris and I met six years ago at a Starbucks in California. Last year we were able to enjoy it more since I was still on maternity leave. This year we had to rush there right after work.
Drew is walking now. He is really starting to vocalize more too. He still can really only say da da, hi, and his version of "light." He's still not saying mama. Darn.

I got a promotion at work, so starting Monday I will be a paraprofessional in the international tax group. This is fantastic news, and we're so excited about it!
-Since I'm making a bit more money, we were able to finally get the kids out of the day care center we didn't like. They go to the Kindercare Clare used to go to. We are so happy about the change! A lot of my pay increase is going to the extra cost, but we think it's well worth it even though it's more than our mortgage!

Because Drew now gets to go outside at day care to play, he just started wearing shoes. At Kindercare he sits for meals at a miniature table in a miniature chair with the other kids and eats from a bowl with a spoon. He seems so much older since I have always kept him barefoot and have just put his food on the highchair tray to avoid him dumping and throwing stuff and making more of a mess. Maybe I'll try to remember to take the camera when I drop the kids off tomorrow. Usually Chris takes the kids to and from day care, but he's in Arizona on business. He'll be back tomorrow. Yeah!
