Fonise, Braniel and Ivy
Last week we had a real treat. Denise, Danny and Ivy came and stayed with us for the weekend. It was so great to have them here and Clare had a blast hanging out with her little cousin Ivy. We didn't do a lot of "tourist" stuff but had a great time all the same. One day we went up to Boulder and had a walk along the creek. Here's a picture of all of the girls next to the statue of Chief Niwot. We also got a nice shot next to a statue of a little girl riding on her fathers shoulders.
At the end of the walk we stopped at a little park and played on the swings and the slide. Clare has turned into a real slide fiend. She LOVES to go down the slide. Ivy had a great time while Uncle Danny pushed her on the swings. I also got a chance to mug for the camera without actually breaking anything. Always a plus!
At home Danny and I spent Friday and Saturday drinking wine and watching TV. Saturday was Veterans Day and we celebrated by watching one of my favorite war movies, The Longest Day. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was in that movie. I read that the director bashed on John Waynes production of the Alamo so the Duke demanded $250,000 to be in the movie while everyone else did it for $25,000. Danny wanted to get some wine for Sunday too but we're a "dry state" on Sundays so he couldn't pick any up. I suppose it's just as well since I gained a couple pounds from all of the beer and wine I drank.
Here's a great picture of Danny, Ivy and Clare. Clare is just crazy about her Uncle Danny! On Monday while I was at work, everyone went to the park. Usually Clare isn't that interested in the swings, but after seeing how much fun Ivy was having she wanted to ride them too and really had a good time. Later that afternoon Debra dropped everyone off at the airport to cap off a wonderful weekend spent with family. We all can't wait to see them again real soon!
